A prolific quarter-miler since his prep years,
Witherspoon ran a world-ranking times (:20.32) in the 200m
and 400m (:45.57) event in 2007. NCAA Champion at Baylor and
many time Big XII Conference Champion in both the 200m and
400m events. A national champion as a prep in high school.
Looks to continue the Baylor tradition of great 400m runners
(Michael Johnson, Jeremy Wariner, Brandon Couts, Deon
Minor).

when Baylor won all four sprint relay titles (4x100-,
4x200-, 4x400-, and sprint medley relays), the first time a
time accomplished the feat since Illinois in 1944, a span of
63 years...During Indoor, ran the lead-off leg on Baylor's
NCAA Championship 4x400-meter relay team that clocked
3:04.24, the second-fastest time in Baylor history...Clocked
20.77 in the 200 meters finals at the NCAA Championships to
place fifth, earning All-America honors...Recorded a
season-best time of 20.68 in the 200 meters, the
second-fastest time in Baylor history, to win his
preliminary heat at the NCAA Championships... Named 2007 Big

Earned All-America honors, anchoring the Bears' 4x400-meter
relay to a third-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor
Championships, clocking 3:02.93...Finished 10th in the 400
meters with a time of 46.12 at the NCAA Outdoor
Championships...Ran the third leg on the Bears' NCAA Midwest
Region champion 4x400-meter relay, anchored the Bears' Big
12 outdoor champion mile relay and ran the second leg on the
Bears' Big 12 outdoor champion 4x100-meter relay...Earned
all-region honors in the 400 meters, finishing second at the
NCAA Midwest Regional with a time of 46.00...Won the Big 12
outdoor 400-meter title with a season-best time of
45.90...Also won the Michael Johnson Classic and North Texas
Invitational 400-meter titles...During the indoor season,
earned All-America honors in the 200 meters, finishing sixth
at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 20.71...Was
named the Big 12 Indoor Male Athlete of the Year and was the
High Point Performer at the Big 12 Indoor
Championships...Became the first athlete in Big 12 history
to win both the indoor 200- and 400-meter crowns...Won the
Big 12 indoor 400-meter title with a time of 46.91...Claimed
the Big 12 indoor 200-meter title with a time of 21.11.
Prior to Baylor (Florida): As a sophomore, earned All-America honors as a member of the Gators' 4x400-meter relay that finished fourth at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships...The relay squad also captured the NCAA East Regional title and broke the meet record to win the Southeastern Conference title...Finished ninth in the 400 meters with a personal best of 45.42 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships...Finished third in the 400 meters and 13th in the 200 meters at the 2005 SEC Outdoor Championships...As a freshman, earned All-America honors as a member of Florida's fourth-place 4x400-meter relay at the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships...Also helped the Gators to titles at the 2004 NCAA East Regional and SEC Outdoor Championships...Won the NCAA East Regional title in the 400 meters...Finished fourth in the 400 meters and sixth in the 200 meters at the SEC Outdoor Championships.
