Brittney Reese On her final jump at the 2008 Olympic Trials, Reese let fly with a mark of 6.95m/22-9.75 (+1.4 mps), a personal record, 2008 U.S. leader and #2 mark in the world, to win…Reese had a breakout season in the long jump in 2007, making the final at the 2007 IAAF World Outdoor Championships…Her runner-up finish at the USA Outdoor Championships came shortly after a sophomore season for Mississippi that saw an NCAA Outdoor championship, NCAA Mideast Regional championship and an SEC Indoor and Outdoor championship…Named SEC Women’s Field Athlete of the Year in 2007…Reese’s personal best of 6.70m/21-11.75 is the third longest jump in the country in 2007…Was Mississippi’s 2004 Gatorade Player of the Year for track…Transferred to Ole Miss from Gulf Coast Community College, where she played basketball and did not compete in track.
